SubnetOps at a glance
- Who it is for
- Enterprises and consortia that need a private, permissioned network.
- The problem it solves
- A private chain needs validators, RPC, an explorer, checkpoints and a runbook, and most teams have never run one.
What it does
- Official XDC-Subnet node software, scripted for setup, start, stop and status
- Four validators by default, tolerating one faulty node
- You generate and hold the validator keys
- Checkpoints to the XDC parent chain
- An explorer and an operations runbook
You will own the subnet and its gas unit; we will run the infrastructure on your instructions.
What you will get
- Official XinFin XDC-Subnet node software, pinned and scripted: setup, start, stop, status and tests.
- Four validators by default, tolerating one faulty node. You will run and own the validator keys; they will be generated on your machines and we will never hold them.
- Optionally, we can run the bootnode and an RPC node, which will hold no valuable keys.
- Checkpoints to the XDC parent chain: Lite by default, or Full (every header verified) as an option, with signed checkpoint proof bundles (
epoch,qcRound, gapBlock, validatorThresholdMet) verifiable via/verify/v1/subnet/:subnetIdand/v1/subnet-ops/checkpoint. - A lightweight explorer that shows the native coin as "gas (no market value)", without a price.
- A runbook covering key ownership, daily operations, adding and removing validators, backups, upgrades and monitoring.
How a pilot will run
- Scope call: validator hosts, who runs what and the checkpoint mode.
- Rehearsal on our test harness, then on your hosts with keys you generate.
- Pilot with Apothem testnet as the parent chain. The checkpoint contract will be deployed with a key you own and fund.
- Mainnet per client, when the pilot is signed off, with your own funded key.
Gas coin conditions
- The genesis will mint only to keys you generate and hold. We will hold no minting, treasury or admin keys.
- Our operator addresses will hold only the gas the job needs (topped up by you), or operator transactions will pay zero gas.
- The gas unit only pays for transactions on your subnet. It is not sold, listed or bridged, and FeedPlumb does not issue, hold or trade it.
